WHAT IS CROSSFIT
CrossFit is the most effective strength and conditioning program in the world for anyone who is interested in improving their overall fitness across all types of physical activity including strength, endurance, flexibility, power, agility, balance, and coordination. CrossFit produces athletic individuals who can excel and compete at anything and everything and who are ready to tackle the unexpected obstacles that life throws their way. CrossFit combines the most effective training methods and functional movements of weightlifting, gymnastics, and high intensity cardiovascular activities to deliver a level of fitness that is, by design, broad, general, and inclusive. Our specialty is not specializing. Everyday life, combat, survival, and many sports reward this kind of fitness and, on average, punish those who limit themselves to specialization.
The CrossFit program is designed for universal scalability making it the perfect application for any committed individual regardless of experience or current level of fitness. CrossFit has been used successfully for elderly individuals with heart disease to new police officers preparing for the rigors of the police academy. The needs of elite level athletes and our grandparents differ only by degree not kind. We scale load and intensity; we don’t change the program.
